Sea Salt

Salt.  What is Salt?

    Common Table Salt is essentially the chemical compound Sodium Chloride ( NaCl).  Salt exists naturally in many parts of the world as the mineral Halite which can be mined, and it also can be “harvested” from the sea through various evaporation processes.  To be called Table Salt it must be 98% sodium Chloride which is generally 40% Sodium and 60% chloride.  More often than not “Table Salt” goes through multiple refining processes to eliminate most other trace minerals and to make it very white.
